Prawn Pulao
Ingredients
- Prawns - 1 lb
- Ginger garlic paste - 3tsp
- Green chillies - 5
- Jeera powder - 1tsp
- Onion - 1
- Tomatoes - 5
- Grated coconut - half cup
- Coconut milk - half cup
- Oil - 1/4 th cup
- Salt - according to taste.
- Basmati rice - 2 1/2 cups
- Cloves - 7 or 8
- Cinnamon powder - 3tsp
- Cardamom pods - 3
- Salt
- Butter - 3 tsp .
Method
- Add water and par boil rice. drain and keep aside.
- Put the pan on fire, add half of the oil.
- After three min add thinly sliced onions and then fry until golden
brown.
- Remove and keep aside.
- Now add the ginger garlic paste, green chilli paste and fry until
nice aroma comes, then add the cleaned prawns and fry for 3-4 min.
- Then add the jeera powder, cut tomatoes and mix well. Cook on medium
heat until they soften.
- Now put in grated coconut, coconut milk, salt, garam masala powder.
- Remove after 5 min. Empty the gravy into a casserole and top it with
parboiled rice.
- Garnish it with fried onions, finely cut cilantro/coriander, a few
mint leaves.
- Cover with a lid, seal the sides with atta dough and cook on slow
heat till rice is done.
Serve hot with raita. |
