Dal Halwa  

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup moong dal
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup ghee
  • 2 cups thick milk
  • 1 big spoon besan
  • 1 cup water
  • Almonds
  • Cardammom powder
  • Cashews
Method 
  • Soak dal for 4-5 hours and then grind it well. 
  • Make a syrup of sugar and water.Add saffron flakes to it. 
  • Heat ghee in a heavy saucepan and add dal paste. 
  • Add Gram Flour 
  • Fry till ghee separates 
  • Add thick milk. When it dries up add sugar syrup little by little. 
  • When it dries up add cardammom powder, cashews and almonds.
