Egg Dal
Ingredients
- Tur Dal - 1 cup.
- Onions - 2 small, chopped finely.
- Tomatoes - 2 small, chopped finely.
- Garlic cloves - 5, chopped finely.
- Ginger - 1" piece, chopped finely.
- Red chilly powderr - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp.
- Garam masala powder - 1/4 tsp.
- Salt to taste.
- Ghee - 1 -2 tblsp for seasoning.
- Eggs - 3.
- Coriander leaves - For garnishing.
Method
- Cook the Tur dal in the pressure cooker till done.
- Heat ghee. Add the finely chopped onions & fry till light brown.
- Then put in the chopped garlic & ginger. Fry till soft.
- Add the chopped tomatoes & fry till the tomatoes are a little
soft.
- Put in the turmeric, garam masala & chilly powder. Fry for about
5 minutes.
- Now put in the cooked dal, mix well & add salt.
- When almost done, break the eggs & pour directly into the dal.
Keep stirring. Remove immediately from heat.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot with white rice or roti. |
