Egg Dal 

Ingredients 

  • Tur Dal - 1 cup.
  • Onions - 2 small, chopped finely.
  • Tomatoes - 2 small, chopped finely.
  • Garlic cloves - 5, chopped finely.
  • Ginger - 1" piece, chopped finely.
  • Red chilly powderr - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp.
  • Garam masala powder - 1/4 tsp.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Ghee - 1 -2 tblsp for seasoning.
  • Eggs - 3.
  • Coriander leaves - For garnishing.
Method 
  • Cook the Tur dal in the pressure cooker till done.
  • Heat ghee. Add the finely chopped onions & fry till light brown. 
  • Then put in the chopped garlic & ginger. Fry till soft. 
  • Add the chopped tomatoes & fry till the tomatoes are a little soft. 
  • Put in the turmeric, garam masala & chilly powder. Fry for about 5 minutes. 
  • Now put in the cooked dal, mix well & add salt.
  • When almost done, break the eggs & pour directly into the dal. Keep stirring. Remove immediately from heat. 
  • Garnish with coriander leaves. 
Serve hot with white rice or roti.
